What we collect
When you create an account, we collect your email address and username. When you enroll in a course, we store your lesson progress so you can resume where you left off. We do not store payment card data — payments are handled by our third-party payment processor, who is the data processor for billing information.
How we use it
Your email is used to authenticate your account and, if you opt in, to send you course updates and product announcements. Your progress data is used solely to power the learning dashboard and completion certificates. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data processors
We use the following third-party services to operate Codeniversity:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting. Your account data is stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database.
- Paddle — payment processing. Paddle.com Market Limited acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases: it processes your payment, handles billing and applicable sales tax/VAT, and is the data processor for your billing information. We receive only a payment confirmation and order ID — we never see or store your raw card details.
Cookies
Codeniversity uses session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics scripts are loaded on our pages.
Your privacy rights
We honor data-subject rights across the major global privacy frameworks, including the EU/UK GDPR, US state privacy laws such as the California CCPA/CPRA, and the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012. Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data in a portable electronic format
- Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data — note that we never sell your data
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (e.g. an EU supervisory authority, or the Philippine National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph)
